SWIM Weather Public Demonstration

IBL MET-SWIM Demonstration Server

Welcome to the demo server of the IBL SWIM Weather. Our focus for the near term is on:

  • compliance with the EU Common Project Regulation (CP1)
  • interoperability testing with organisations providing MET-SWIM services
  • alignment of the AMQP notification structure between the data providers in the EUR region
  • alignment with the Rodeo Project to represent observation and forecast data in CoverageJSON format.
    • for now, the demo server provides only the standard IWXXM data model, but JSON will follow.

Beyond CP1, the IBL SWIM Weather product will closely track the development in the community building the MET-SWIM compatible interfaces. IBL will work with a range of aviation meteorological services on publishing value-added products through EDR.

Available Services

The primary services in compliance with SWIM Registry IWXXM METAR-SPECI, TAF, SIGMET Subscription and Request Service 1.0 that are available right now:

AMQP Subscriptions

A subscription Service using AMQP 1.0 (OASIS Advanced Message Queuing Protocol) to IWXXM OPMET data is running.

See AMQP Data Subscriptions for all details and an example Python client.

OGC API - EDR (Environmental Data Retrieval)

Request Service using OGC API - EDR (Environmental Data Retrieval) service for HTTP(S) requests to the IWXXM OPMET data.

See OGC EDR Data Access.

Certificate Verification

Users are authenticated by client certificates issued by HARICA - the Certificate Authority (CA) chosen by EUROCONTROL as the partner for implementing EACP (European Aviation Common Public Key Infrastructure).

See Working with Certificates for details.

Hint
You can also use the OGC EDR endpoints over a plain HTTP connection for easier testing.
